4L60E Transmission Mounts

Why are the 4th gen cars so hard on transmission mounts? Mine just broke for the 4th or 5th time tonight, and I wasn't even pounding on it.

I do NOT want to put a stock POS one back in it, but I don't know what kind to get......

Re: 4L60E Transmission Mounts

I have an Energy Suspension mount in there and, personally, it is great. Lots of people say they are unbearable when it comes to vibrations. But I havent really noticed anything big. You will notice more, but not much at all. But if you dont want to get a poly mount, then get a 1LE mount. SLP sells them.

probably due to the high hp of these cars...maybe a little poor engineering on the factory's part with the mount...

just do the ES mount. i noticed very minimal vibration increase and it's solid as hell now.

AFAIK, SLP stopped selling them quite some time ago when their stock ran out. GM no longer makes the "old" 1LE mount any more. The replacement for the 1LE mount is just like the stock mount.
If you want a tough stock mount, get the LS1 mount.

Is it just the standard Energy Suspension mount like they have listed in Summit or Jegs?

Yup. Just make sure it's one designed for your car. Autozone even sells the ES mounts but you have to special order them. Price should be no more than $25 bucks. If it's more, go elsewhere. I got mine from Thunder Racing about 2 years ago. Still looks and feels new and I never noticed any abnormal vibrations.

The only one listed in Summit is for GM Rear wheel drive cars.

Re: 4L60E Transmission Mounts

i would do what shoebox said get an ls-1 mount because the energy suspension one was too much for me on vibration but won't break if that's what your looking for .

You have a PM Ram Air!

I will try an aftermarket one and see what it is like.

what is the difference between the LS1 and LT1 mounts? I just purchased PN 2220-1140 from GM Parts Direct.
