245 tires vs 255 tires?
245 tires vs 255 tires?
do you think the 255s will provide any more noticable traction than the 245s? im burning up these 245s pretty quick with the combination of my 3.73 gears and my foot made of lead.

What kind of tires are you using right now? I would think the tread compound would make more of a difference than an extra cm would.
im using kuhmo ecsta 711's all around 245's. Concerning trad compound, im slightly worried about breaking something in the rear end. Should i be? i dont ever launch the car or anything harsh directly off the line. i usually get it up to about 15 at light throttle then mash the gas.

I've been putting 420 rwhp through a 10 bolt with 3.42s and a Pro Auburn for 10 years with BFG DRs (275 40 R17s)...knock on wood (my head) and I haven't broken anything yet...A4's are much easier on the rears than an M6...The only weak link may be the 3.73s since the pinion a gear is a bit smaller. Its even more fun being a lead foot when you have a lil traction...Get some 255 BFG DRs and have at it...

I would suggest you switch tire for a much better one..
your acceleration habits are what will cost you the most.. Any tire wont last you too long.
For superior traction and launching based on the money spent I would suggest Yokohama AVS ES100's.
Affordable tires that hook like mad.. you will run your car harder on them. I was running at the track and launching (slipping quickly off the clutch) at 3000rpms and not spinning..
Great tires..
The 245 vs 255 wont be anything at all noticeable.. The difference btw 245's and 275's alone is just 1 inch.
