2003 cobra terminator
2003 cobra terminator
i have a 94 camaro with all the bolt ons listed in my sig. i have a couple more now including 1.6 rr's, pushrods, guideplates. but i want to beat a buddy who is getting a stock 2003 cobra terminator. i dont think he will be doing too much work to it....maybe exhaust. what would i have to do to at least match him in 1/4 mile times.
assuming your new motor and trans are stock replacements;
dr's, relocation brackets, small shot of n2o or h/c.
what times are you running now? is he a good driver? stock they can range from 12.5-13.0 broad range depending on the driver.

depending on the drag radials, anywhere from .2-.5 gain. its tricky with you having an a4 and 4.10's. suspension upgrades can net you another .3-.5 on top of the dr's. its definately something to look into if you spin bad off the line with them gears.
In stock form, they have been shown to dyno around 380 at the wheels. Assuming he can properly drive it, you would need to step up to a mild heads/cam package or even consider adding a nitrous setup to your car.
You'll also need about a ~3000 - 3200 stall converter, and probably a cam as a minimum (unless you spray
). You've got ~100 HP to make up for. The Cobras take down (stock) LS1's all the time. You've got a lot of ground to make up.
Heads/cam + ~3200 converter + DR's (as well as the mods you've already got) and you should be pretty safe, or at least in the ball park
.
OR, ~3000 converter + DR's + N2O

They don't call 'em Terminators for nothing. They respond really well to blower porting, pully upgrades and nitrous. It doesn't take a whole lot to make them pretty lethal. I know a couple guys with them and they are fast!
also have to ask yourself, are you modding the car just to beat him? if you do win, is he the type of person who would counter mod his car? like already mentioned, it doesnt take much for them to be hp monsters. at that point it gets real expensive for you to keep up
i am not modding just to beat him. he is just talking alot of **** right now with it. he has the room to, but if i can even stay up within a car length he will cry. he won't counter mod me. he already spent all his money just trying to buy the car.
anyways, cobras can be made uber-fast with little money.
