2002 Z28 gas filler tube

2002 Z28 gas filler tube

Does anyone now for sure if it is possible to siphon fuel from the filler tube?

I believe the filler tube goes across the inside of the tank, not just to the edge. Best bet is to uhook a fuel line and power up the pump and pump it out.

I wouldn't do that, you can damage the pump by running it dry. And yes, you should be able to drain the tank with a siphon pump. Just make sure you don't break that little metal door on the filler tube.

When I tried that on a '97 Transam, there was a screen in the neck down at the bottom that prevented it.

Tried to siphon it today. Hit something in the filler neck about 22 inches down. Ended up pulling the line off the filter and jumping the fuel pump socket.
