2002 camaro shifting problems

Hello New poster so hopefully you all can help me out

I got a 02 camaro v6 3800 5 speed that is grinding gears when i red line it from first to second. This is the only time this ever happens and I just replaced the clutch on the car a few months ago. Its only when I shift from 1st to 2nd at high rpms. A buddy said it might be a synchro problem but I really dont know enough about the topic to know what it could be. Any thoughts?

Thanks Eric

2nd gear synchro/blocker rings seem to take the most abuse and then start to exhibit noise. what happens if you shift a wee bit slower? is the noise not so bad. how many miles on the gearbox?

It only makes the "grinding" noise when I shift over 4500 rpms. If I shift slower its not as bad. It’s the worst when I’m really on it and shift quick into 2nd. I let a friend drive it and the same thing happened to him. At first I thought I was just letting up on the clutch to quick but I tried shifting real carefully and not as quick but it still makes the noise just not as bad. The car has just over 70000 miles and to my knowledge it hasn’t had any work done regarding the gearbox (I got it used at around 65000 miles).
