car is a 2000 Z28 with the monsoon system. ive blown the drivers door speaker twice. any reason why? i listen to metal so its not too bassy.

NOTHING...


the monsoons are 2amp and all aftermarket speakers are 4amp....or vise-versa...don't recall

but any speaker you put in will be running at half power

watch ebay for used ones is the best bet...or replace the whole damn system

If you are serious about your music, rip out the entire Monsoon system. Get a new head unit, 6.5" componets for the doors, a 10" sub for the hatch, and a nice amp will do ya.

not that i cant afford to do upgrade everything, i would rather put it elsewhere ill figure something out. probably upgrade the speakers as they blow

 

isn't it ohms not amps? I could be wrong, just what I thought
