1996 Z28 Recommended Headlights

Can anyone recommend a place to buy better than stock headlights for a 1996 Z28? I need to replace all, Low, High and Fog lamps,

But for now I just need a pair of Low beams.

Thanks!

Mike

Sylvania Silverstars, 4351 and 4352. You can get them at your local parts store for about $25 a piece. They are definitely a lot whiter and brighter than stock. Last for a good amount of time. First set I had lasted for a year and a half.

Thank you Both!

I will continue to look for the silverStars, haven't found them yet. What Parts store did you see them at?

I am looking into the Hella's, where did you buy yours?

Thanks again!

See my cardomain site for some pics of various bulbs.

Silverstar output was more or less the same as stock but looked whiter.

If you want more output, go for 80w clear Luks.

Unlike 80w tinted blue bulbs, the increased wattage does make a difference.

I don't have any head-on pics of the Luks like the other bulbs, but I do have pics of the ground that show the Luks put down more light (page 4).

Thank for the great information!

How are you putting in all of these different blubs in your 1996 Camaro? the Luk Bulb application chart that I have found, so far, states that they only support 98 and up.

Very Frustrating. As you say on your site "our lighting SUCKS".

Thank you for any information that you can provide.

i got PIAA fog driving lights, their so bright I have them pointed a lil lower then the low beams and people still flash me...also it's somewhat blinding because of how low you have to point them...I wish I had gone with something else.

FYI, checked the Sylvania wesite, they don't make a Silverstar 4351 or 4352.

That is why the guy can't find them. I wish they would make them, but they don't.

Basically, all you need to do is take any 9006 bulb and fit it into one of your old headlight housing. Just take one of your burned out headlights, carefully remove the old bulb, put in the new 9006 bulb and seal it (I use the red gasket stuff but JB Weld works too).

If you want to try Silverstars, they are available in the 9006 size. With our housings though that don't project good enough, you'll want to put out as much light as you can which would be the Luks. They "look" like stock, just brighter. The Silverstars won't be functionally any better but will have a cleaner look.

I got my Luks here
