does anyone know how to remove the ac compressor clutch on a 1996 ss 5.7l. The standard pully kit does not work as it ssems if the front iece itself screws off? any info on how to remove would be greatlty appreciated as i am trying to avoid taking off the whole compressor. thanks jeff

 

It take a special tool to remove... Don't know if you can do it with the compressor installed..

Clutch Hub Removal and Installation tool... Your compressor is a H6 style or HD6...

 

And this is one of those situations there it really helps to have the special tool.

 

for the amount of time and effort involved plus the cost of the puller just buy a remanufactured compressor
