1994 z28 convertible top

I recently picked up a 1994 z28 convertible and I'm new to the convertible world. I have a rear window defrost button and the button lights up when I hit it but my rear window is plastic. Is this normal in these cars or did it come with a glass rear window and maybe something happened and they went the cheaper route with the plastic vs the glass? Thanks in advance for the help.

I have a 95Z28 with the factory top with the glass rear window. Sounds to me like someone changed the top and went with the cheaper plastic window.

The plastic window tops are cheaper, I have cruised eBay and you can find them but like I said they are more money. I hate a plastic rear window.

Thanks for the help guys, looks like Im the one paying the extra money cause the plastic window does indeed suck. I found a few websites that you can get a canvas top with the glass window and defrost for $550. I'll prolly be going that route in the near future.

If you live in the HOT south you may want to stay with the plastic. The glass is known to separate along the bottom of the glass. I'm has done this twice in 15 years.
