A friend of mine is willing to sell me his 1987 Formula Firebird with the V6 for $500. The body looks to be in pretty decent condition, some rust but the panels look of. I have seen a few 3rd generation Firebirds but this one seems different. It has an odd set of ground effect and front clip. I don't believe I have ever seen this set on another car and they look extremely good on it. They also appear to be factory and flow with the lines very well.

The current owner said the guy he bought it from claimed it was rare and that they only made them that year with the ground effects. Could there be any truth to this?

Any owner's of a similar car here?

The headliner is sagging and the interior can use some work but other than that I think I found me a project car.

 

Get some pics of it so we can look at them and answer your question. Without them it's kind of hard to do.
