my 97 WS-6 firebirds rims are rusting is this even possible on aluminum rims its only its spots where the clear coating on the rims has come off its not really bad but what should i use to get it off?

 

There is no simple way to remove it. The aluminum is actually corroding.

The only way to really fix it is to send the wheels out for refinishing. It's probably cheaper to just order a new set on Ebay.

You could always have them painted?

Sand them down and paint them yourself, or polish them.

 

It typically costs $100 each to refinish a wheel, but many people seem to think that WS6 rims are worth $800 a set or something.

My vote is for refinishing.

 

i have no idea where i could find a place to do that but for 60$ i can get a do it myself kit

 

Its not hard to do, just takes alot of time.

 

That's weird. I've never seen an aluminum wheel rust before.
