Not with a heavy vert. The ones I've seen ran very low 14's stock.
I'd say high to mid 13's. Those shorties don't help much over the 00-02 manifolds.

bbk claimed they'd add an extra 15-20 h.p. for the shorty headers. Have you ever ran or heard of anyone installing them?

Sure a manufacturer will make HP claims.

Its been my experience that Verts are about a half second slower at the track.

That a big difference for just 100 lbs heavier. Why do you think the convertables are so slow???

Really depends on the driver. A friend of mine ran a 13.9 in an LT1 6-speed convertible with only a catback and intake. The LS1 Convertible is very capable of low 13's stock. The difference in weight compared to a coupe is around 130 pounds. Like was stated earlier, the shorty headers probably won't gain you much over the stock manifolds if any, the lid and cold air intake should be good for 2-3 tenths off of your ET. If you can drive you should be in the low 13's.

A friend of mine ran 13.4X's in his stock 93 Firehawk w/a 6 speed. So with the same basic mods as that vert he was .5 sec quicker.

I realize that the LS1 was touched by the finger of Allah, but not even most hardtop A4 LS1s w/just a lid would run low 13's so why would a vert??? Most relatively stock A4's are in the mid 13's to 13.3X range. Saying an A4 vert with basicly just a lid SHOULD be low 13's is like saying a M6 LS1's SHOULD run high 12's. Very few would do that.

I knew a couple of guys with an A4 verts and mod per mod they were at least 2 car lengths behind other similar cars. Back when I first got my car, I ran a guy with an A4 vert anv ed SS w/the SLP package (or so he claimed). He got me off the line, but at half track I went right by him and beat him by 3 cars. I only ran high 13.8X on that run because I didn't have the launch down. I didn't see what he ran, but he only trapped 98 mph.

The gains from those headers are negligable when compared to the 00 up manifold. We're talking ~5 hp with a catback installd. W/stock exhaust it'll be less.

I also removed the screen on the m.a.f sensor, which really for some reason increased power. I know they claim not to do that, but it really helped my car. Maybe for some reason with a lid and a cold air induction and with bypassing the t.b.coolant it all worked together??? and maybe the shorty headers also helped??
