02 Camaro Power Windows (both sides)

Greetings,

I have been reading many forums trying to figure this out, but my issue is a little bit different then the others, I have a 02 Z-28 Camaro 35th anniv addition

And both of my power windows are moving VERY slow, they will go up and down, but they are moving at a very slow speed, if i try and do both of them at the same time, they almost stop completely

For a car with 50,000 miles, is it possible that both motors are going out at the same time?

Also I had to replace the alternator a few miles back, and I have noticed that the power gauge sits right above the red lines, if i turn on the ac or use a blinker the needle sits in the highest point of the red, could this be connected to my power window issue?

Thanks.

The passenger window is common. There are fixes for it.

Your driver side motor is probably on its way out though. Just get an Autozone replacement. Make sure you get one with a warranty. Shoebox has an install guide for it.

no doubt the window motors. They've got a "thermal protection" component in them that is way too cautious.

There are some threads on here about bypassing that thermal component.... either that, or replace the motor(s). Shoebox has good instructions.

Low voltage will also slow your windows way down.

thank you all for your replies, on another forum, some people replied saying that they think it might be a bad ground, or that the belt on the alternator is not tightened all the way... the belt seems fine, but i have no idea where to start with the ground

I was thinking about picking up a voltmeter, is there a certain test that i could perform to maybe narrow down the problem with the gauge?

I don't think it's the guage, I think it's the alternator. Figure out what's wrong with your power first. That could leave you with a dead battery somewhere. You can take the alt back off and have it tested. If its not that then something is robbing power.

My 2002 Florida Highway Patrol Camaro B4C went thru 4 or 5 window motors before I got it from FHP. And I replaced one more in the three years I had it.

Pretty common problem.
