If you want headers it's hard to not go used. I'd surf the for sale section. I got my coated stainless steel SLP headers for $300 shipped. They are close to 7-800 new. I've had them for close to 4 years now and i love'em.

My buddy sold his coated 94-95 SLP coated headers and y-pipe that were used but in nice shape for $250. So the deals are out there. If you don't need headers asap just troll the for sale forum and check it every 5 mins. The good deals are gone almost immediately.

I bought those for my 94 Z and I would NEVER get pacesetters again. I have heard that they are getting better, the pair I got were a joke. You had to grind out the o2 sensor bung just so the sensors would go in. Plus the flange were the headers meet the y-pipe does not like to stay tight and bolts will just fall out. Also those stupid things leaked everywhere, the welds sucked and I even pulled them off and reinstalled them with about four differant gaskets and they would just not seal up. You can say good bye to that black paint in about 5 min after startup. The paint comes right off, and I am not talking about little flakes. Huge chunks of paint just falls off, I ended up pulling them back off and powdercoating them with a high temp silver which worked well. The little hole for the EGR tube was also way to small and the tube would not even fit, so when you have all this leakage before the o2 sensor the car ran like **** and I wish I never put headers on the car. The car ran 100% better with the stock manifolds, I have since sold the car to one of my buddies and those headers are still leaking till this day.
A very good leason I learned is that you get what you pay for, you pay next to nothing for headers and you get next to nothing. The choice is yours, you know what I would do.

Just thought for the sake of buyers that I would throw this link up here. These are the pacesetters, but make your own decisions. As r6bullets clarified, you can end up with a disaster story, but not everyone will. I've heard a lot of good things about pacesetters, just get them coated.

There is usually a horor story for every product on the market. I have the Pacesetters and have no problems to report. Granted there were a couple of quirks during the installation, but welcome to the world of aftermarket parts, not everything goes together perfect or comes out right the first time.

What's the benefit of going with long tube headers over shorties or mid lengths?

Overall, long tubes will yield better power increases, but then again alot of people are running 400+ hp off of shorties or mid-lengths.

Pros:
Cheap price
Have emissions fittings on the headers for AIR and EGR
Cons:
Y-pipe is catless, can be a problem if you have tailpipe emissions
Plug access is going to be difficult
They are not coated, but painted so who knows how long they will stay looking nice
