$60,000 '02 Camaro?

I thought many of the LS1 motors in 02's were detuned Ls6's? I guess the deal here is the factory limited offering.

Factory did not make the ZL1 cars, GMMG did.

What sort of amazes me is the fact the starting price is only ~$4200 over the original price.

GMMG (an aftermarket company, not related to GM) took some '02 Camaro SSes and modified them. They installed the LS6 motor, the Z06-style rims and tires, and all of the other mods listed on that dealer sheet.

Stock, the '01 and '02 LS1 Camaros (and Firebirds) have LS6 intake manifolds, and many '02 cars have LS6 blocks. The true LS6 uses different heads and a different cam. I'm sure there are other differences as well, but those are the major ones.

Presuming that you mean "Yenko", yeah, kinda. I don't know the specs on the Yenkos, but I get the impression that a Yenko Camaro was a much bigger upgrade than a GMMG is.

No, these are a modern day ZL1. Back in 69, they made a ZL1 optioned Camaro. The problem was that it more than doubled the sticker price, which not alot of people went for. In the end, they ironically sold only 69. I guess as kind of a farewell, in 2002 they brought the ZL1 back, again only producing 69. They had 3 phases (I think), the 3rd being over 100k new. This is coming from memory, correct me if I'm wrong.

Awesome car, I just dunno if I can get over the fact that its a hard top. Hmm, yeah I got over it.

I'll give him a dollar, a bag of doritos, my left smelly shoe, and maybe a matching sock to go with it.

That's like someone around here trying to sell his 95 for 90,000 just because it's turbocharged and supposably the tranny is made of titanium.

Nice, but 60k for a modern Camaro? I think not. Well, I suppose if you're a collector with unlimited funds maybe but this seems like a rather silly use of money. But, hey, it has a bidder so what do I know.

Re: $60,000 '02 Camaro?

Is there a difference between the gmmg and berger cars? I thought they were both the same but this one has more emphasis on it being a ZL1 then the berger cars I saw a carlisle a few years ago. Those were stage 3 so they had rollcages and that sort of thing too.

Re: $60,000 '02 Camaro?

gmmg built the berger cars as well as the intimidator SS, blackbird's, ZL1's, and a few other amazing cars like that 427 beast! I see a lot of their cars around here because they are just down the street, and it makes me cry because I want one

Lucky you. I live in a town dominated by mustangs and ricers. I'd love to see/ hear a ZL1 roaring past my house once in a while.
