Question $300-$350 right for converter install?

I just called to shops about having my torque converter installed. They quoted me at $300 and $350. Is this the going rate?

Re: $300-$350 right for converter install?

You have to drop the tranny which on average is about $250 from when I called around to get my tranny rebuilt 2 weeks ago, so it seems they are charging you $50-$100 to take off the TC and put the new one on. You might be able to to find a shop to do it for a little cheaper, but not much. The other option is doing it yourself. I believe there is a guide to dropping your tranny on shoebox's website, dont have the link here at work.
