Those with SLP Shorties on LT1 + Stock Plug Wires..

So planning to go back to stock routing and have SLP shorties on my 96 LT1.

For you that have this set up..did you do anything special for plug wire #7? It looks like it'll have to wrap around the collector on the header, so how did you keep it in place for that plug? Did you add a heat protector on the wire? Any problem with it flopping around and touch the steering column?

Let me know your tricks...before this weekend if possible.

I used the stock wire protector metal piece for #7. Runs close to the head. I user MSD wires. I also use the stock metal plug protectors as provided by stock. I use a wire twist retained to secure them onto the MSD plug boots. I have had no problems for years. To change #7 boot, I strip and crimp the MSD wire in place on the engine. 97ss 383 - D1. B.

I finished it yesterday.

Passenger side routed as stock..used stock looms.

Driver side #7...I routed away from the other 3 which were straight forward. For #7 I went along the brake lines below the steering column..then looped back around to plug 7...kinda from the rear. Boot turns 90 to rear of the car. I was surprised that wire was actually that long.

More interesting, I think I found my problem with random misfires...need to take pics of the old Taylor OTVC wires...but when I pulled the wire from the opti end...the whole crimp end just broke in half on one of the wires...ugg...I'll load pics when I have them.

Thanks for your feedback.
