Small line hanging over my rear driver axle(fuel?)
After getting back from the dyno i lift the car to play with my pinion angle. While i was underneath it , i saw a small line hanging just over my driver rear axle.
Its a black line maybe 1/4 inch in size and got a kinda big white plastic piece at the end of it.In the middle it there is a metal part that seems to me like a pressure valve,When i press on it it release some pressure and smell gas.
Any idea of what it is?
Where does it supposed to be connected?
Thanks.

So i did my homework and also took 2 pictures.
The hose that i was talking about is probably a pressure vent.It was connected to the body by a clip but its now broken...You can see the pieces that im holding and just on the upper right you see the white clip:

So no problem for this one
While im there is it normal to have this black hose not connected to anything and running along the driver side body.Im holding it between 2 fingers...See pic:

I'd guess it goes to the charcoal canister (post #1) it mounted back near the filler hose. The fuel tank is designed to get slightly pressurized as the fuel expands in heat. The fuel cap is a one way (in only) valve. When the pressure hits a pound or two the pressure relief valve on the vent hose releases vapors into the canister. Later on when the engine is running the vapors are sucked into the intake thru the EVAP solenoid.

They broke your vent from the mounting when they strapped the car on the dyno.

Re: Small line hanging over my rear driver axle(fuel?)
Anyone know what the part # is for the valve. I smell gas now and then, checked the relieve valve and you can blow thru it easy, also no pressure in fuel tank after driving around. I think is it leaking.
Thanks

Last known part number is 10245442 for the vent on the end of the hose, but may be discontinued.

Re: Small line hanging over my rear driver axle(fuel?)
Thanks will hunt for a replacement.
Update:No replacement .
Plugged line going to that relief valve. No pressure build up in tank, NO GAS SMELL. all gone.
Must be a reason they discontinued that part.
Thanks to all for the help.
