questions about injectors
what i need to know is what is the real benefit of running aftermarket injectors? i'm pretty sure i have a few leaking and flooding my engine so i'm gonna replace them. my mods don't need any bigger ones and it will be a while before i do so i'm gonna go with stock size. i can't afford to so silly on price cause of the holidays (gotta pay off xmas first), so i got to keep the price around 150. i found a set of rebuilds on ebay for 150 and have seen a few sets on the forums for around that price but want to know if it is really worth it to get used aftermarkets as compaired to freshly rebuilt ones?
If you get aftermarket injectors, but in the stock size, you should be okay. If you go with a larger size, however, you will need a tune to prevent running excessively rich. I would just go with a set of stock replacements. It might even be worth a shot to check out the classifieds on this site, you might be able to get a set for a cheap price.
thanks for the idea on testing the injectors out, the reason i thought they were going bad was the flooded engine after lettin it sit with the key on for about 1/2 an hour or so. i was working on the rear defroster. anyway, the car has 111k on it now so i figured they are probably starting to get pretty nasty. i just got a tune done back in the end of summer so i really dont wanna do it again right now. if i get any from here then i would want very low miles but i'm beginning to think i'll probably go with the remans from ebay.
