No Spark
No Spark
I have a 1993 Z28 with a 1995 motor and trans(6 speed) in it. I bought the car cheap and had the impression that it was going to be easy to fix. Well I was wrong. When the car was purchased the guy told me that it ran but he had burnt the wirring harness to the ecm when he torched off an exhaust bolt. Well I fixed all the wires, changed a bunch of fuses and tried to start. It would turn over and the fuel pump turns on but no spark. So I read up on the LT1 and started at the coil and worked my around the motor. No spark at the coil so I replaced that. Nothing, then replaced the ICM, Then the whole optispark and still no spark. Then someone told me to replace the knock module in the ecm, still no spark. The thing is that I have power to the coil. When I have someone crank the motor I have 12 volts on the coil. I was told that it is going to have atleast 20,000 to 30,000 volts. So if anyone could point me in the right direction or had this problem and could give me some advice that would be great.
