I have the Mallory 685 Hyfire Ignition box. It is mainly there to complement my nitrous setup. What I like about it is that it has a built-in window switch and timing retard. If you were to go with MSD, you would have to buy those two things seperately along with the cost of the ignition box itself. For 220 bucks, I would say the Mallory is a pretty good deal. As for the wiring, it is pretty simple. I used a MSD wire harness to avoid cutting and splicing into the factory wiring. To get the box working, you basically need to hook up 6 wires: 4 wires from the Mallory box to the MSD harness, one wire for power and one wire for ground. It doesn't get much easier then that.

Harness part number: 8876 MSD Wiring Harness - GM Dual Connector Coil (thru 95)

As for the box, it is the VI CD, here is the link: http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...18101_-1_10385

Jegs even has it on sale right now.

If you're not planning on using nitrous or a blower, than an MSD-6AL will work for you and provide a rev limiter that will cut ignition (the stock F-body cuts fuel at the rev limit) for less money than a more featured ignition box.
