There has been a lot out about how bad aftermarket optis have been. And GM optis seem to be the way to go. However, I was at the saccitycorvette.com site that sells the AIP opti which has the Mitsubisi module and claims output to 8000 rpm and is used in some racing event. Has anyone had experience with this unit?

The rebuilt AC Delco is what most recommend. I have a Dynaspark from before the company changed hands and quality dropped, with no issues.
It seems for something outside AC Delco, some have looked at Ventilated Optispark Distributor | Petris Enterprises
I have not heard of Saccity. Be careful about the module, as they state they use their own Mitsubishi spec module, not a Mitsubishi module specifically. They do provide a 2 year warranty, so as long as you are okay with the possibility of extra work, there is a significant cost difference and a 2 year warranty.
Personally, if it's too good to be true, it probably is.

Sac City Corvette resells the AIP (All Ignition Products) Opti for $60 more than AIP sells it for. Haven't heard anything about AIP for at least 5 years. Before that, their Opti was recognized as a certified, complete POS.
Thanks for the reply, Fred. Now, how does jet.com advertise a "AC Delco, D8301 by AC Delco" for $151.78 ? Bill

I wouldn't trust the site. Again, too good to be true, it probably is.
I just looked at Rockauto and they now have a GM Delphi Pn :1938351 for $224 with core
and a Pn: 19212399 for $307. incl harness with core. Some place I read where not all harness adapters were the same.

I must be late. I just checked Rock Auto and was informed the Delphi Opti is not available.
I am not sure I need an opti. It is not oil covered. Maybe I need to check the computer.
Well, if I remember it just seemed to have a misfire.
The car has recent plugs and plug wires.

Misfiring under what conditions? Have you checked the fuel pressure? Have you scanned for codes? Have you had the coil and ICM tested? Did you inspect the Opti plug wire terminals for corrosion when you changed the wires?

Because it is a cap and rotor kit-not a complete optispark.Originally Posted by Rod Bender
