Hey guys I was just doing an inspection of my camaro n seen yesterday night that my fuel pressure regulator was leaking gas pretty good. I pulled the vacuum hose off the regulator n noticed that the hose is cracked n looks chewed up bad.

I bought a new fuel pressure regulator just so I know it's new,I'm pretty sure the one on the camaro is the original one n old now.

But outta curiosity if the vacuum hose that connects to the regulator is chewed up n cracked,does it cause fuel to leak out of the regulator.

 

Fuel should not leak out of the regulator with the vacuum hose disconnected (or "chewed up"). In fact, to correctly check the fuel pressure, you need to remove the vacuum line from the regulator, measure the pressure with no vacuum, than reconnect the line and measure the pressure with vacuum.

Was the fuel leaking out of the vacuum line connection? That would mean the diaphragm in the regulator was leaking, dumping fuel into your intake manifold at the vacuum port.

Check your engine oil for dilution by gasoline.
