Fuel Cell with In Line Pump Questions

Okay, I've got a fuel cell with an in-line pump...

I have a Holley 12-920 OR some would say it is a Walbro GSL-392 sold in a Holley box... I don't know the difference.

I've got a 20-gallon RCI fuel cell.

Now, the directions tell me to put a fuel filter BEFORE the pump and AFTER the pump. It gave me a part number Holley 562-1 that I have purchased for the AFTER pump. Now I need the BEFORE pump. Here is what the directions have said about the BEFORE pump:

"A low-pressure fuel filter MUST be used on the inlet of these fuel pumps. Failure to do this WILL damage the pump, which will VOID the warranty.

Use a filter that has a filtration rating of 40-100 microns. Use filters that can flow at least 600 pounds per hour (100 gallons per hour) with minimal pressure drop.

For moderate power applications, you can use a typical 3/8" barb universal carbureted fuel filter, commonly found at auto parts stores."

Now here's my question: Do you know of a good in-line 3/8" filter that would work in this situation? Keep in mind I can't spend $150 on a ridiculous Aeromotive filters (not right now, at least) and I'd rather not have to buy AN- adapters. So let's try to keep it with typical rubber-hose setups...

Secondly, I've got these two "vents" on top of my cell. Anyone know how to close them off? I've heard that I need a "vacuum breaker" or something up there to keep it open until it flips over (hope that doesn't ever happen...) It looks like they accept AN- fittings, probably AN-10 fittings.

Thanks guys!!!

PS - I'm running around 350-hp to the wheels so I can't go with a cheap Russell filter before the pump. I've actually already bought one and then realized that I can't use it.

the lo press filter you want is going to look like a mount with a can on the bottom....

You need to buy a cap for one side at the top of the cell and a rollover vent for the other side

Went through the wrong filter so I know!

I already went through a pump cause Summit sent the wrong filter so I already burnt up a pump and had it rebuilt.

The inlet filter should not be finer than 100 microns. Try to keep the size near that of the pump.

For the breather look here:

When ever you are looking for something you can't find, use Summit "by department".

I guess I'll update my own thread...

I finally broke down and called the manufacturer, Holley. They knew exactly what I needed. They suggested a part for an '84 Buick Grand National. They gave me a part number 562-3 which is a small plastic white fuel filter. It says it is for high-pressure FI applications. Works like a charm so far.
