Delteq and timing? What gives?

I had my car dynotuned by Bryan at Pcmforless and the timing is not correct. Right now it is sitting on 40 degrees and there is no way, but when he puts it back to 32 degrees, it falls flat.

He mentioned that Delteqs have been known to do this.

So how do I go about getting my actual timing being the PCM is seeing what is being commanded...even though it is not accurate.

Minus listening for pinging, I would like to run more timing if it makes more power....but I would like to know what I have timing wise?

I've never had this problem before. My delteq commands whatever the PCM timing tables tell it to. How did Bryan get the actual timing...from a scanner? How did he know it was wrong?

He set it to a particular value and the car did not respond and ran like it had no timing.

It is at 40 degrees of timing right now and there is no hint of pinging so he made the determination that the timing is wrong. I feel the car needs more timing.

12.2:1 CR, 93 octane gas.

I would call delteq and get them to send you a new box. This is stretching a long way, but is it possible the opti is not aligned with the cam pin correctly? You could always get you one of those inductive timing lights hook it to the number one plug wire and make chalk marks at TDC or 40 BTDC on your harmonic balancer to see if Bryan was right.
