cleaning the fuel injectors/system
I was wondering what the difference is between just running a bottle of cleaner through the system every few months and having a garage clean the system with one of the $89.00 deals. Is what they do more thorough or is it a waste of money? What bottle of cleaner is recommended?

The shop will most likely do a "pressure flush" where they hook up an apparatus to the Schrader valve and introduce the cleaner to the fuel system. Hard to say if it is worth it or not, unless your fuel injectors are dirty or clogged and causing issues. As for the tank treatment, the Chevron Techron gets good marks.

I don't have any issues other than what appears to be carbon build-up. I've had some people say I just need to get on it for a bit.
I did some searching here and may put some SEAFOAM in it to see if it gets better before I put the $$$ into a pressure system clean job at a garage.
