95 LT1 went to twin Walbro pumps - will stock regulator work?
Re: 95 LT1 went to twin Walbro pumps - will stock regulator work?
up
adjustable boost reference regulator solved most all my problems.
How high is it safe to set fuel pressure trying to get AFR and my WOT smooth?
it's at 40psi now base pressure and car falls flat at around 5500 rpm/50psi fuel/ 10lb boost only during WOT - anywhere under WOT the car doesn't miss a beat!
a few posts up said adjust fuel to achieve AFR
with 60# Siemens and stock lines - how high can I adjust pressure as test / tune?
I will dyno the car but pressure adjustment is free - what is max pressure to try?

up again for those that read for resolution
finally got to adjust my base fuel pressure up from 40psi to ~44psi with vacuum line off and plugged. reason is I am disabled and must wait for time to get in a mechanic's shop for anything.
So I drive away with closer to correct pressure and when I hit boost / activate 2nd pump the car is even more bogged. I don't like it.
So I drive a while and the car seems to be learning the added fuel b/c it is getting better - but it just feels like too much fuel now.
So I pull the fuse from my 2nd fuel pump, running on a single 255 Walbro with 44psi base pressure.
I floor the car from a dead stop - it hits 10lb boost and stays pegged there while the tires just burn off, I shift to 2nd at 6000 without a skip and it keeps pulling right into 3rd and up to 5800 rpm when I let off. Whew!!!!!!!!!
that's MUCH better! the fuel pressure rose to ~55psi and held like a rock the entire pull.
So I repeat a few 2 shift burnouts - it's consistant.
from a roll at like 2600rpm in 3rd gear and floor it - te car will hit 5 lb boost and bog a bit, after many different styles of throttle it seems the fuel pressure is most all my problem. The transition into boost will need tuning.
I'll need to set that to AFR on a dyno as told in ths thread long ago.
It is more sensitive to change from the set tune than I knew - but the car is fine on a single pump it seems.
Fuel pressure regulator was bad all along then my fuel pump came apart in the tank which fooled me to thinking that was the only problem.
