Re: 383 injectors

with out knowing all the specs for the cam and heads its a guessing game at best. but more than likely a 30 will do fine. it will be a pig till you throw the boost to it so don't be surprised.

Re: 383 injectors

Definately need to know more data on heads and cam size to be able to get an idea what it will produce.

I'm not sure I agree it will be a pig tho I've seen a mild 226 deg cammed 8.8 to 1 comp 406 designed for a blower make 520 hp at the crank with good AFR heads. I thought that was pretty darn incredible for such a low comp tiny cam for a 406 motor.

You can still make power with low comp.

That being said, I dont think 450 crank/flexplate hp will be a problem with a modest cam and good flowing heads/intake. Something like that at a base 43.5 psi pressure I'd go with a 30-36 lb injector and cycle dutys will be in range. 42's are good for 500-550whp depending on the combo. My buddy's motor has seen 520whp and over 85% duty on his 42's. So those would be abit overkill for you. 24's i've seen max out around 355-365whp which could be in your range but a 30 should give you room. No way I would try stock injectors but thats just a guess on your combo

Heres the kicker tho.... why are you worried about buying n/a injectors now and then gettin bigger injectors? Just buy the big injectors now. Get the siemens 80lbs they are good to 800-900whp depending on the pressure and fuel pumps you use. They idle down at low pulsewidths just fine. i use them on my baby 401 and now again on my huge heads/cam 401. If you have half decent heads/cam and decent sized twins or decent sized blower, it will be a 600whp car with 10-12 psi and near 800 on 17-18. 80's will cover that easily and is a good setup for twin walbro intank pumps

With proper tuning they will work. High impedence they will work great. I should be going to FIC 115's here soon and expect no issues with idle or low speed operation with such large injector.

Re: 383 injectors

Thanks for the input everyone..
I've got a set of 72# Precisions i could toss on there if i get the impedance converter. It may be looking like that's my best bet so far.
