ZZ9 Cam with ATI

Well a guy I know is just giving away a zz9 cam for a lt1. So me being the cheap person that I am is really thinking about picking it up just for a few extra ponies. The reason Im considering this is that I dont know how long my stock internalled block will run so I want just throw a genaric cam in this motor and when its time to get a 396 get the custom grind. Here is the info on the cam.
ZZ-9 HydraulicRoller:

Intake Exhaust Advertised duration 282 287
Duration at .050 212 226
Gross lift .483 .520
Lobe separation 112

Here is the math that I did with 1.6 RRs
212/226 @.050, 112 lsa, .510/.550 lift on a 1.6 rr

I know the HP gains arent going to be as much as a custom grind but what kind of HP should I be looking at with stock heads? Also does anyone have a sound clip of the cam?

Let me know your opinions.

Re: ZZ9 Cam with ATI

HP guess?? No I wont....

It does look like it would help, longer exh duration and lift. I can say it would be better than a stock cam.......

Re: ZZ9 Cam with ATI

The ZZ9 is a decient cam. Have one in mine with heads and exhaust. Ran it on the bottle (ran good) and now just put a charger on it. Yet to get results. I'm sure theres better out there, but you can't beat FREE. FYI though, if you put it in your car WITH 1.6 RR's, you should get new springs and get new valve locks. Cant remember if you need positive or negative locks, but whichever will let your valve travel without coil bind. If you don't, that cam and 1.6's will cause coil bind and you'll start breaking valve springs. Ask me how I know...
