I guess 20psi on felpros can only last so long.
Now I get to fix many of the things I half assed before. Time for new rings, replace all the gaskets that leak - exhaust, pan, etc -
Hopefully I didn't hurt anything. Oil is still pretty clean. Coolant looks clean. Valve covers and catch can look nasty. Hopefully it wasn't pushing water or hot very long.

Got everything unhooked. Just need to drop the cradle.
Oil pan had no water in it.
Radiator had no oil in it.
Looks like I had just blown it and just had steam in there. I have massive blowby (unkown ring gap) and had oil/water in my catch can and the valve covers. Looks like it should just be headgaskets needed. Doing the rings right this time.

Hmm. Headgaskets look fine to me. Wonder what the problem could be.



Looks like it tried to push the whole gasket out. Look how far the holes around the bolts between the cylinders are stretched.
Everything else looked very clean coming apart. One of the pistons has a few little pits from detonation, but the plugs are very clean. I think that damage was done a long time ago when I had fuel problems and stuff. I'll still back the timing down a few degrees until I can get to the dyno. Still don't know how much timing it truly likes. Think I am on 25 degrees right now.
Did find a couple of big cracks in my hot side. I'll patch it back up, but am worried about having it coated if the dang thing could crack again. There is a flex pipe in my crossover, and again this could go back to when I had my tune way off and the manifolds were turning orange.
Will be a few weeks before I can put it back together, but I feel better now.

#3 was cleaned pretty good, and #5 even some.

I've read some pretty good stuff about them. They have a rubber coating so there is no need for copper spray and such.

Thanks all but I have no interest in oringing this setup. The car has always been about doing the most with the absolute least amount of money. I know 20psi sounds like a lot but remember its only a 600 hp car.

I pulled the pan last night and started pulling pistons. Results:
Bearings - Perfect
Main caps - to all the nay sayers, my 2 bolt studded main shows no signs of cracking, shifting, walking, or any other trouble with 700+ ft lbs on them for over 3k miles now.
Ringlands - like new
Pistons - overall look really good. A few detonation spots on top but thats it
Rings - actually check out to be about the right gap - may just keep them in there and save the money
Block - A ok
So it looks like I'm just going to order head gaskets and put it back together. (Well and clean it all up too.
