would a t76 work with a T.technology single LT1 kit

Just as it says..im looking to possibly buy a turbotech. single LT1 setup...but i dont wanna use the stock turbo. Would a PTE76 turbo bolt up to the kit? i would have a bigger intercooler on there and be running a highly built engine with 18-20psi..im just wondering if the kit would accomodate the turbo

Interesting you bring this up. I am in the middle of a custom turbo installation in my '95 Z28. I have a PTE-76 GT-S on order, but am building the kit around a mock-up turbo from Precision. From what I hear, my layout is similar to the Turbo Tech kit. I am using an SLP shorty or the passenger side, a crossover pipe under the torque converter, and a log on the driver's side. The turbo is in the same location as a Vortech/ATI/Powerdyne, but he compressor inlet is pointing forward. Do you have any pic's of the Turbo Tech kit? I'd like to compare mine to it.

I wish I could. . . but even with the log, things are REALLY cramped in there. I have a 3" log, if that helps any, plus the tubes coming out of the head into the log are angled to go "with flow".

Very funny. . .

A log manifold is when you run a piece of pipe parrallel to the cylinder head and Tee short individual exhaust tubes into it.

thanks for all the help guys..but i think im just going to go with the PTK hotpipe kit and find someone to custom make the rest of the pipes ( so i can use my own intercooler and build around it) or my friend steve and I will make the pipes.

TT used to do a exchange upgrade to a T76 for around $700 if you had one of their kits with the TO4B or E Turbo.

Good choice

My T76 with .96 housing+turbo tech kit. I couldnt make more then 11psi. Too much back pressure. Horrible design. Havent seen one person that was happy with that kit. All I hear is complaints and people selling it.

Re: would a t76 work with a T.technology single LT1 kit

actually i just changed my mind...ptks prices went up from 1599 to 1899 for the hot pipes....i was ready to get them to...in 2 weeks..but the price jump is forcing me to go to a custom made setup. It might be around the same price..maybe a bit more(unlikely)..but id rather pay that amount and put the turbo where i want it. that price JUMP is going to scare away some people(myself being one of them).ive heard nothing but EXCELLENT things about the guy whos going to do mine so im not worried about quality. Now i just have to figure out where im going to put the turbo...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
