what are the limits of the Vortech Aftercooler ???
>Is it worth the investment or should someone go with a bigger setup ... i.e. air to air like a Spearco that is custom fabbed ?
btw I have a 396 with T-trim and nitrous but also the Vortech aftercooler kit (new in box) , but hesitant to install just to remove it if it has to much limitations .
I don't want to choke the supercharger , if this makes sense .

From what I have heard, your setup might be too much for the aftercooler.. 15 psi on a built motor max??? 12 PSI on a good flowing stroked engine is fine, but I think some people did experience problems at around 15 psi..

On my maxed out sq I lost 3 pounds boost on a cold day I don't know if all of the drop was cooling the charge but the guys at vortec told me the mustang mondo has two of the f body cores in it so it prob is a restriction.

If you are referring to the aftercooler that comes with the G or SQ trim blower, it will not work well with T trim and larger blowers. Their Mondo cooler would work.

This is the only info I could find http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/products/coolers/
btw - I have a VFN 6" cowl hood so clearance should not be a problem (yeah right )

I'd bet the actual pressure drop on a 600 rwhp car is LESS THAN .5 psi.
Furthermore, if an intercooler drops the charge air from 250 F to 100 F, then boost could fall by as much as 4 psi.

I am installing the vortech aftercooler right now with the V2.
I am not impressed with the size and location of the plastic tank, it appears too small.
The aftercooler core is located right above the headers on the drivers side, that is questionable also.
We'll see what this system does in a week or two

I lost 1 psi... but then again.. while i was installing the aftercooler i had to go obligated to a parts store with no filter and it ate up my impeller
So i had 9psi and did 501rwhp.. put the aftercooler and did 555with 8psi.
