what head gaskets for the high boosted guys?

Okay so as some know I popped my head gasket. In the spring when my rad went my car got to 270ish+ degrees, drove it after with no issue other then on the highway it would always over heat.

I parked the car for over a month to do the rear end and remake my crossover.
I started the car up and shot coolant everywhere.

So i did a compression check. 210PSI across the board!

Now I currently have SCE titans .040 compressed 4.060 bore (383 .030over)

I was thinking of using these again but there on backorder. I have summit money I need to spend too.

what gaskets should I get. And has anyone used like .060 compressed with any issues? Im trying to bring the compression down a bit. Currently 9.78:1 with a .040 compressed gasket.

whats everyones vote for gaskets.

Plans are either run a bit thicker gasket and keep the LE2s OR save for some Trick flows and drop the CR to 8.8ish.

12-18psi depending on what i do.

I use Cometic gaskets with about 15# boost. You can order them in whatever thickness you need. They are a 3 layer SS gasket and they adjust the middle layer thickness to suit your needs. You need the right finish on heads to make them seal up and work correctly. I spray them with a light coat of Hylomar before installing them.

I just installed cometics and I think they are sealing for me. My coppers were drinking water and so far after a few miles the cometics seem ok. The finish is supposed to be very important on them.

That being said... Most people say you are fine with felpros if your tune is on. I made it about 4k miles on mine. If you are popping titans then I would worry there may be something else going on here.

I think my problem with the felpros were just clamping force. I was on arp bolts and my torque wrench gave out on me not long ago... so I'm thinking they may have been under torqued. Studs now and 85#s on them should hold.

well I got the heads off...head gasket fine! It turns out they were just SCE coppers. (buddy built the motor).

They seemed easy to take the nuts off the studs. I setup my TQ wrench at like 65-70ft.lbs and the nuts turned a tad.

The motor has been together N/A for 4 years untouched other then the intake. So maybe when it overheated they warped a tad or they just lifted.

Im gonna get them tested and refinised then sell them as the CC is too small.

Also no water in the oil! the #8intake leaked but the valve was closed SO LUCKY ME!

Good deal.
My ARP studs said torque to 85# with 30w motor oil just for reference.
