what is everyone running and for how long
what is everyone running and for how long
I am trying to take a pole and see how long your engines are running with NO lower end work done and a supercharger..... Tell how much boost your running and what is done to the motor and how many miles you have on the set up.... thanks,,
Re: what is everyone running and for how long
30k miles on the stock bottom end so far. 85k total. Blew a head gasket at 78k and installed ported heads and a 224/236 comp cam. Currently running 8# pulleys but I'm only seeing 4-5 max. Haven't installed my methanol kit yet, and I don't have an intercooler. The car is my daily driver, rain or shine, so I try not to beat on it too much.

Mods on website link below
12# pully, making 7 psi, 5000 miles...
tore of the crank hub(new keyed one now)
broke bypass valve
No major problems.
Love it!
Re: what is everyone running and for how long
I'd definitely like to see more responses as I'm contemplating on whether to supercharge (4.5 psi non-intercooled Procharger) or turbo (STS) my 120K mile LT1. A local guy where I live has a stock longblock '93 Formula with 150K who has been running a non-intercooled Vortech for some time now, but it's not his daily driver. He just got it tuned and it supposedly put down some very good numbers, but he hasn't posted them up yet. I wanna see if his set-up survives (SneakinDeacon on cz28.com and revxtreme.com).

Re: what is everyone running and for how long
see sig for specs. 10k, but it is not a daily driver and it is intercooled. I try everything possible to not ever let it go lean or detonate - dyno regularly to check a/f, close eye on fp gauge, etc. Been working so far - knock on wood, but i don't beat it constantly. I'll do the bottom end when it finally has had enough.
