Hee is a good vid of wg dumping to atmosphere. the hissing you hear during the pulls is the air dumping from the gate... sounds like a jet

You want stealth? Run nitrous.
The turbine wheel whistling away is a dead give away. You cannot get away from it. Sort of like a blower whine. There is no hiding it
Because of this simple fact I dump it on every kit I build. Its easier to fab up and if you are under wastegated it helps a LOT keeping the boost level inline.
Sounds cool anyways. Why would you want to hide that!?!?
And jon... f'n love it.. great lil vid

It's like merging on the freeway, If traffic merges into a lane that has most of the traffic, there's going to be more congestion (turbulence). The weight of the high speed air is going to keep most of it on the outside radius, you want it to be as smooth as possible, the inside or short radius isnt as important (just like in head porting).
But again, it's probably not THAT hugely important. As long as they merge at an acute angle that looks ok it's all good.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the undersized wastegate comment. Travis will be running a JGS40mm gate on his setup. I am thinking dumping is probably a good idea to prevent any possible boost creep.
