Vortech V1 no boost

Got a 95 Z28 that was given to me, it has a Vortech V1 kit installed but has no boost. Thought it might be a simple issue of a clogged map sensor as it is consuming a little oil, but no such luck.

Car is a A4, stock other than the SC and has roughly 130,000 miles on it.

Any tips.

I'll assume your looking for boost on a boost gauge. Is the line on the boost gauge hooked up?

They system uses a bypass valve, if this valve is faulty or the vacuum line going to the valve is faulty, the engine won't go into boost.

Are you reading the map sensor with a laptop? Of course it won't show boost....

How have you determined you are not building boost?

I'm getting no boost because the car isn't going like a bat out of hell and I get no whine from the blower itself. I need to get the car up on the rack and inspect the belt, but I'm starting to lean towards boost control valve.

If you don't hear a little whine, then the blower is not spinning (or it's just an SQ model and is quiet). Make sure the belt is even on it. Or install a boost gauge.

I spent some time last night checking things out. The belt does need to be replaced, but it was still tight. The big problem was the bypass valve had failed.
