Vortech SQ G trim? How much power can this support?
Ok I am in the middle of doing either new Lloyd Elliott ported Trickflow heads/Singleplane intake conversion($3200-$3500)+ NX 200shot(Already have on car) or just putting together some ported LT1 castings with a Vortech. I found a deal on a V-9SQ G-trim charger on the board for $800. I will need to buy the mounting kit also. My question is about how much boost can this charger put out on a 355"LT1 with 10.5.1 compression?I plan on running a Alky kit and the n2o. I may run an intercooler also. My goal is to have fast street car (9sec.@140+mph) with a charger. The car has a killer shortblock (forged crank, H-beams, Lunati pistons, CC306, double roller, Jethot longtubes etc..) K-member, Hal's up front, 325/50/15 ET street radials out back and has been 10.17@134mph on a 200shot. The heads cracked so I need to have another set done. I was going to go killer N/A (Trickflows) and n2o with a single plane intake but for the same price or close I could build another set of LT1's($900), use my current LT1 intake(58mmT.B.) and put this Vortech and NX 150shot on top of 10psi.of boost Either way I have to buy injectors, new fuel pumps, heads and all. I just want to know if this particular charger will provide enough boost to make it worth my while. Thanks in advance. Later Clint

Re: Vortech SQ G trim? How much power can this support?
I've seen them make around 500 aftercooled to the wheels with the boltons on ls1's at 8-10lbs. That's about the most you'll get out of it. There was a recent magazine with an engine dyno on one doing high 400's on an engine dyno w/ a stock engine, iirc.. but it wasn't pushing much boost.
