vortech lt1kit

I have a vortech strim kit and it did'nt come with the vortec harmonic balancer and the shop is afraid if they bolt the s/c pulley onto the stock one since its not raised it may crack the pulley.

is anyone using thier stock crankpulley or whatever ???

I would probably get one from Vortech....I wouldnt use my stock one. I didnt even know that it would bolt up?

Vortech forgot to send me a balancer with my kit (they sent a 6.66" pulley instead ).

I used the stock balancer, but ONLY AFTER MACHINING IT FLAT ON THE FRONT. If you know a good machinist, have them chuck it up in a lathe and trim the middle section front to the depth of the bolt countersinks.

If you bolt the pulley to the stock balancer, you won't get good belt alignment (pulley will extend to far forward) and the pulley doesn't have a flat surface to bolt to, resulting in a poor fit-up.

yea thats why we ordered a new one, should be here day or 2 after christmas
