Vortech belt tensioner FYI
Vortech belt tensioner FYI
I always appreciate when I find good info on here, passing along for someone else when needed.
I was trying to install my new belt and had the wrench on my tensioner idler bolt and the dam bolt spun. Basically ripped out some of the threads and won't torque down. Its reverse threaded, and I couldn't find a longer one anywhere in town. Rather than waste any more time with it, decided to replace it. I've heard Vortech wants a grip for a new one. It has Ford #F4TA-6B209-DB on it, which is an outdated number. The updated ford part# is F4TA-6B209-A. I found one on ebay for $35 shipped to my door new.
If you are in a desparate hurry and need one ASAP... 1994 Ford F350 4wd 7.3L turbo deisel, belt tensioner is what you need. Autozone was like $75, Napa was around $100. Hope that helps someone.
