Vertical Radiator

The common radiator is the Griffin 1-25241-X. I talked with a guy at Griffin named Patrick. For a custom built radiator with these options:

1 1/4 Inlet and Outlet. Stock Lt1 Positioning
5/8 Steam Line
Trans Cooler

The price is:
$341.03+shipping with everything correct for the lt1.

For the larger internal core.

$433.33+ shipping.

Just thought I would post this so everyone knows it can be setup for a lt1 all you have to do is call the company and they will custom make it. The guy was real nice and time frame is 2-4 weeks (I THINK DONT QUOTE THAT).

But $433!!??!!

I can get the base one without a trans cooler for like $180 with SBC port positioning, run the steam line to a barb fitting put into the thermostat housing where the bleeder screw was. And spend a little time at napa finding hoses that work where you want em and still look real good!

Add $100 for the trans cooler. still under $300 shipped to your door

Plus most people do this are doing it for a turbo setup and would need to find hoses to work with all the extra junk depending on turbo positioning.

Now how about getting something for the A/C??

I'm trying to go vertical and keep the A/C too... So far, nothing but headaches.

Not that bad. Would have to measure usuable area in front of the radiator and find a condensor out of another car that fits in the area.

We have the stuff at work I would need to extend the lines.

But I ditched my a/c in favor of how I ran my crossover.

This is funny b/c my buddy is ordering the Vertical radiator and I told him to call Griffin and talk to Patrick. Tell him you want the "Ben Charles" Radiator, he should be able to bring my exact one that I had them build for me.
WORKS FLAWLESS.

Just got to thinking about the steam line. Could I run the line for the water pump oil cooler to the steam line? Just rotate the fitting and run it up?

Im not sure if there would be a problem with that or not.

I ran the steam line into a barb fittin where the air bleeder on the thermostat housing used to be. Its clean, hidden, and works.

I think the bleeders are a joke. I just jack the front of the car way up (putting the radiator above the engine) and burb the system like any other car... Never had a single problem... and never used a bleeder
