I believe the V2 has revised gear ratios and you can order it with the SQ (silent) option. But, you can't get it in heavy duty or T trim. Probably more to it, but I'm not up to date on what since I've been researching turbos alot lately.

I am pretty sure they are basically the same blowers. The V2 has helical cut gears, while the V1 has straight cut gears like the ati. The V2 has a slightly higher step up ratio (3.6:1) vs the V1. According to vortech, they each flow 1000 CFM and support approx. 680 horse. I'm going to try out the V2, I really like the idea of a quiet blower.

I considered it a few months ago, but I didn't want to muster up the $1000 bucks that the exchange would cost me. If you're getting a new kit or you find a used head unit in good condition then it's probably worth it. You could probably ask Tbyrne if there are any other differences since he sells alot of them.

I hear turbos are pretty quiet.

I was looking at a turbo also. Seemed a bit complicated for a street car. At least with a supercharger, you can go back to N/A very quickly if you had too. You can't do that with a turbo, you have to change out the whole exhaust. There's not too many turbo kits out there either for V8's. And, none of them are 50 state legal as far as I know.

Why would you need to go back to NA? Just curious.

Pro Turbo seems to make the best kit for the LT1s. As long as you're not in Cali, emissions shouldn't be a problem. I'm going to order the exhaust side of their kit for my turbo motor when I'm ready for it.

Everyone needs an 800 hp turbo car for a daily driver.

Hopefully I can pick up the S10 I've been looking at in the morning so I don't have to worry about my daily driver busting a ringland and being out of comission for months on end.

I'm looking at an old Jeep Wrangler... trucks definitely make the best beaters.

Yeah, that's true about trucks. I'm planning to drop a the TPI 350 out of my GTA into the S10 though. Too bad I didn't get to look at the truck this morning, the guy slept in or something. So, I'll go look at it Monday and offer him less $$ since he wasted my time this morning.

That's an awesome idea, are you going to drop it a bit? S10s are RWD, right? That'd make an awesome DD.

You can get the T-trim out of the V2, but only on the impeller and housing... not the heavy duty though.
