hey i just wanted to see some opinions fomr people who have more expirence in this than i do... i have an 88 Iroc Z 350 tpi and i am going to turbo it. i have gotten a turbo and i hope its not too small. it is a Garrett T3 and it is a .60 a/r compressor and .63 a/r turbine. i am just using this car for street use only. the engine is stock so i just want ot puts like 5-6 lbs boost. i had a friend that put this same turbo on his 5oh stang and had good results so i thought i would try it. from the people i talked to with this set up thay thought it would be good for what i want to do and spool at like 2500rpm which would be ideal for me. i dont want a race car just a little more kick to my street car. thanks...

It'd make boost very quick. It's smaller than what I'd want to run, but that's me. I've used twin T3/T4 hybrids on a 305 before and they made boost VERY quick. The T3 turbos are more common on small displacement motors (Honduhs, Toyotas, various 4-bangers).

 

A single T3 is too small for a 350, even a stock one. The exhaust side would be a major restriction and the compressor is going to have trouble flowing enough air to be worth it. I would definately step up to one of the myriad of T4 configurations available.

so what size do you guys recommend? is there one that icould buy used because i cannot afford a new one maybe one that came on a car or truck that isnt too hard to find? any suggestions are welcome... remeber its not going to be a huge monster car just a street car that i want to squeeze about 5-8 lbs of boost to give it a little more *** for spankin the ricers.. if you know what i mean...
