Turbo LT1?

Which way to go with the LT1? Turbo or Supercharged? I am looking to put one of the two on my car here soon. Also, which brand is better for the Turbo/Supercharger. Thanks.

Depends on how deep your pockets are.

exactly.

The pros and cons of each power adder are fairly clear. Its all about how much money you want to spend on either set up. From my own experirence of going through a similar "problem" , a turbo set up was always several thousand dollars more.

STS has a pretty cheap turbo kit if you like the whole rear mounting thing.

What would give me the most power? And also the longest engine life?

It's not really which one would give you more power, but where you would want your power inthe band.

Turbos kick in at a certain RPM and boost full from the aforementioned RPM all the way up to redline.

Superchargers gradually build boost throughout the RPM range.

There are many ongoing arguments in the Turbo vs Blower world, my personal preference is a turbocharger because of the full boost that you see early on through redline. Superchargers tend to put out better topend, while turbos leave a broader, flatter powerband.

That's about as general as I can be... you can't really quote specific differences without knowing more about the setup.

Superchargers are more popular because of two reasons: 1) Cheaper and 2) easier to install/tune.

Either way you go, good luck

Turbos do NOT necesarily make more power... that is a very general statement. Some blower guys I know would smack you around for that

So far I've rebuilt all the internals in my car. Nothing is stock, so I don't think I would have a problem with that. I'm kinda leaning towards a Supercharger because of the fact it's always gradually gaining more boost. The only thing I like about a Turbo is running more boost

Well unless your planning on boosting over 15-16 psi, it won't really affect you much. Another key benefit of the turbocharger is the ease of changing boost levels.

Also, it would be good to remember that a Supercharger saps engine horsepower through the serpentine belt, not unlike a larger A/C. This is the largest reason why turbos are favored over blowers in high-powered drag cars, because the drag cars require so much power to function.

However, blowers are more convenient for street use because of their ease of installation...

It's up to you, there are many turbo vs supercharger write-ups on this board and others, with many more knowledgable on both setups than I am. Good luck.

I WOULD SMACK THEM FOR DOING SUPERCHARGER OVER TURBO(if they had a choice to pick one)

turbo's can put out more boost safer than any supercharger combination so they can easily smoke a supercharged car depending on settings of course but w/ the supercharger you'll always be taken hp to get hp. With that being said turbo all the way! Find a welder to make you some custom headers, then just buy your turbos, and a intercooler is a must for high psi.

see where this is starting to get at?
This is all about a money/power ratio. So then may i ask,
what is your budget here?
How much HP are you looking to get as the end result?

As far as engine life is concerned, its all dependent on how well the engine was thought out and built to work with the forced induction you choose. Also, keep in mind that some of what was quoted above is not all true. My advise to you is to learn as much as possible about each set up, then do alot of planning, while keeping the budget in mind.
