Turbo buildup progress pics...

Well, here are some progress pics. I am waiting for two more v-band clamp assemblies and the hotside (not including DP) should be close to done. Just need wastegate provisions (waiting for my Tial 44mm gate) and O2 bungs. This is for a 383 LT1. I used 2 slp passenger side shorty headers. Looking to run 12-15psi with 93 plus meth.

383LT1
AFR210’s (310cfm/220cfm @ .600)
LT4 intake with Monoblade TB
Cam Motion 223/217 or Comp Cam 230/224
M6 with McCleod street twin
9” rear w/3.55 gears

Looks pretty good so far. How are you planning to run the down pipe?

Thanks. Like the PTK Gen 1 kit. Bang a 90 and either go over or under the sway bar and run between the steering knuckle and fender wall on driver's side. I'll figure it out once it goes in the car

That cross-over pipe is going to hang pretty low where you've got it. If it's not too late, you should think about re-routing it to run between the oil pan and the k-member. Other than that, it looks great.

Figures, PTK's site isnt quite working right. Isnt that where the stock y-pipe crosses over...I am trying to remember? I'll take some measurements, but I am pretty sure it hangs downa a maximum of 2" below the k-member. I'll check it out tonight. Thanks for the advice.

Re: Turbo buildup progress pics...

By the way, here is a pic from a turbotech street kit on an LS1:

I have not heard bad things about ground clearance on the kit, but this thing looks lower than mine!! Your right though, in between the pan & k-member will tuck up the best.

Any LT1 owners out there...can someone measure with a tape the distance from the ground to the bottom of the bellhousing?

Nice use of SLP shorties..

:-D

You need to cut off those puny flanges (the front one, with the 1/2" long primary on it) is the worst.. and replace them with 1/2" thick flanges. they WILL warp.

Nice setup, I just recently started snooping aroudn the FI forum and i'm gonna have to pay attention to this build.

Makes me feel inadaquate with my new hairdryer though

P.S. i'm still running those SLP mids, getting a lil rusty but they are holding up.

Hey bro, how is it going? Is that the underhood of a GN? Did you buy a GN or just the turbo?

I posted more pics

Its not a GN but the T-Type in my signature actually, its my beater car, and a pretty cool beater at that if I may say so. I've only had it a couple weeks, so I'm just getting into the FI thing.

If I knew how to read sigs I would have known that…lol! Sounds cool. There is a super clean gnx down the street from me for sale. Hmm…my wife wouldn’t have that! One money pit is enough!
