those who made your own log style headers

Just wondering where you get the pies for that since it would be a little different than the pipe needed for tubular headers...?

you can get the t pipes and the 90 degree radius pipes from www.mcmaster.com. They have mild and stainless steel. Just search for like weld els or stainless pipe and you should be able to find them.

What kinda pipe are u looking for? Summit sells straight pipe as well as bends in sizes up to at least 3".

Re: those who made your own log style headers

Gotta have some smallish pipe like 1 5/8 pipes to weld onto the header flange or the shortpipes on the header flange to connect to the log. Ill basically have to do more research as far as sizing of all the hotside parts, just curious if there is a certain gauge like 16 gauge that the pipes and log etc should be made of... and whaere some of you get it from.

Got mine from a plumber... schedule 40. In addition to different diameters, different radii are available.

Re: those who made your own log style headers

Sch40 should be about 1/8" thick wall, maybe a bit more. I saw a how-to on one of the Honda sites a while back.. let me see ifn I can find it again...

Re: those who made your own log style headers

I'd have to go back and look, but my main log is some thick ****...14ga. maybe? The primaries are 1-3/4" u & j-bends that I got from a local place. They work perfect.

Re: those who made your own log style headers

No. Still in too many pieces. But to be fair, it will end up more like shorty headers, than a log manifold.
