Just thinking about coverting from nitrous to boost. Unfortunately I never got the motor running right to spray it and now with me having to rebuild the short block to include new pistons, I figured now would be the time if I wanted boost. Thanks

 

Why not have both I like the blower as the power is there whenever you want it; just mash on the pedal. I only add the nitrous at the track; it provides extra power and the cooling affect works great with a blown car (and I'm running an aftercooler).

if you are only going to run one i would go with the boost because when the bottle is empty your out of power...the boost is always there.

 

I agree with him too. A blower is a lot more usable on the street, the power is easier to control and comes on smoother. Nitrous gets pretty expensive if you want to go fast. I was going through a bottle a week without counting the bottles used at the track. A friend of mine is running a 300 shot and he only gets 2 passes off of a full 10 lb bottle. Thats 17.00 a pass .

 

Nitrous:
Open the bottle valve.
Purge.
Turn the switch on.
Floor it.
Turn the switch off.
Close the bottle valve.
Purge.

Boost:
Floor it.

Everyone is right so far,I use both. Boost is only a right foot away. Nitrous you have to fill.I usually only use the nitrous when I see some one pulling up next to me.You know what they say,run what you brung and hope you brought enough.I usually try and bring enough.

 

9.0 PSI from a Powerdyne on a 383? I'd call BS but maybe you've converted to the gear driven head unit?

 

I've run supercharger. I've run nitrous. I've run supercharger+nitrous.

With supercharger, I blew 7 pistons.
With nitrous, I blew 5 pistons and cracked my block.

You pick your poison.

no,just had special sized,cogged pulleys made for $200.00 and they work great.

I've used all three and it depends on where it's being used. For track only, forced induction all the way. If it's on the street...gotta be nitrous.

 

That's funny. . . I would have said the exact opposite.

 

im with you on that one...I would have said supercharger for the street and nitrous for the track.
