Thinking about a turbo kit again

Well here it goes. I have read thru, a book called maximum boost by Corky Bell before. This has always wanted me to build a turbo kit. But I have had a hard time getting away from the bottle.

I will be building a forged stroker either way and I have a set of brodix -10heads with 2.08 int and 1.6 exh valves. I also have a single plane intake that has been converted to fuel injection.

My goal is to run low 9's and if I feel like pushing the block a little harder maybe a high 8. Hard to do but possible.

I was going to shoot for 600hp on the motor and spray two stages of nitrous. A 250 direct port then a 100 shot on the plate. But once again I can't make up my mind. So if my goal is around 900 to 1000fwhp. What would be a better choice a single turbo or two smaller turbos? And what size turbo do you recommend?

I will probobly have to make my own manifolds for 2 reasons. One saving money and the second is the heads have a spread exhaust ports. A log style manifold seams to work and is easier to make.

I hope to have my car up and running by april so I better make up my mind.

I'd go turbo, but that is just me. I think this is the only car I have owned that I didn't turbocharge right after I bought it. Still thinking about it

You may be able to hang with the big dogs while the bottle is full, but once you're out you're a bone waiting to be chewed on.

For the turbo and all out power, get a single. If you match it to your cam and engine specs, you'll have minimal lag in the system and a linear powerband. I've been in big turbo cars and some that aren't matched just hammer into boost, which puts alot of strain on drivetrain and engine parts. Some like it that way, but me I like the linear boost method which works great for street driving and if you stall the car right you can build a ton of boost off the line and get a good launch.

Depending on where you go for the turbo, you're better off talking with the guys who sell the turbo. You can download compressor maps and calculate all day, but those guys can pretty much make you a turbo fit just for what you need and most times you can't find maps for them. I've had one off the shelf turbo, the rest were different combos put together by PTE to get the type of turbo I needed for my Application. Check a sponsor first, I'm always a big fan of that.

Any one know of some good sites to pick up a turbo at a fair price? I will be making the mainfolds if I go this route.

Thanks

Not sure if I am breaking any rules here, but I can't find any vendors that have just turbo parts.
