I COULD PROBABLY GET OPTION 1 DELIVERED AND HAVE END TANKS INSTALLED BY SPEARCO FOR A TOTAL OF ABOUT 550. OPTION 2 WOUDL PROBABLY BE SLIGHTLY MORE $$.

I AM LOOKING TO PUSH THE D1 TO THE MAX WITH 1400 CFM THROUGH THIS INTERCOOLER. NOTICE OPTION 1 IS ALSO 4" THICK. IS THE SPEARCO DESIGN MUCH BETTER WHERE EVEN THOUGH IT HAS A SMALLER VOLUME IT WOULD BE MORE EFFICIENT?

ANY FEEDBACK ABOUT THE HYBRID BAR AND PLATE INTERCOOLER DESIGN OR EXPERIENCES?

How much money are you willing to spend? i know of a place that sells spearco intercoolers for pretty cheap with endtanks all welded up too

 

well, this spearco is going for around 600 on the average onebay. the hybrid core is pretty cheap and after some $$ to fab up the end tanks, it would come to 550. i really don't see a need to spend over 600 if i can choose between these two. they are about the biggest intercooler i can get up front on my 69z28. how much for the spearco from your contact for a core size of around 24x12x3 or 24x12x4?

 

Spearco core (23x11x4.5 flows 1400cfm) after end tanks ends up being 28x11x4.5

that is a really good price. can i choose the end tank configuration or are they already fab'd up? 4.5" thick.. wow.. got make sure i can stuff it in there. i know 4" was gonna be very tight.
