powerglide perhaps hehe

A properly built TH400 would be more then enough to handle your power. You might want to check out NCRC converters. Marty just debuted his all aluminum converter at the PRI show, that would be choice for turbo setups. I believe it weights a total of 5lbs while your at it Neil could build you a 400 that would last.

Transmission parts are sitting in the garage, just waiting to tear it all apart. Not sure if I want to do a cam or not though.

I have no underhood temp problems.

See, i've often wondered if, in the case of a turbo setup, having a cowl hood would help or not, or maybe like a ram-air hood to keep the air blowing on it

If your building your own 400 check line pressure as that is what destroy's the case lugs down on the intermediate pressure plate snap ring. Or you could put in the case saver bolt through the case and keep the high pressure.

hmm, good thinking, wonder if my hood flows enough air to help.

Heat rises... so it will rise up to the underneath of the hood. I would think a cowl hood will help vent that heat.
