Supercharging LT1. What all is required?
I have an LT1 that I will eventually put in my 85 T/A. I was wondering if I rebuild it what all does the bottom end need to take the boost. I know I will use forged pistons, but what can the stock crank and rods handle. I have long tubes and dual exhaust already ready for it. I want to lower the compression and use a pretty good set of heads so I can run a pretty good amount of boost. I plan on driving it on the street, but dont have to pass emissions. What do you guys suggest?

It all depends on the amount of power you want to make. If it's over 500, then you should probably look to a better crank, and rods. Maybe someone else will chime in with their own personal experiences. My new 383 shortblock has forged pistons and rods, and a cast crank. I'm not counting on making more than 500rwhp. If I break something, I'll be sure to let everyone know.
Does anyone else have any suggestions. I think I will probably end up going with a forged rotating assembly, but wondered if it would be necisarry. If I am supercharging am I better with a 355 or should I just go with a 383. If anyone has a suggestion on for a good rotating assembly that will support plety of power, but wont completely break the bank then let me know. I know it will be expensive, and I have a fairly recent motor in the car so it is no hurry, but I am not rich and will have to save the money over time to do it so keep that in mind also.
